This blog is going to stay, but there won't be any new updates. Anyone who wants to follow the lives of Sammy and the baby brother we are waiting on can check out our new blog:

Blue Bicycle

So, Sammy asked us for a "blue bicycle" for weeks. Not a tricycle, a bicycle. We told him he was too small, and then started looking for them online. We found "balance bikes" - bicycles without pedals. The idea is that kids learn about balance and gliding on the bike before they bother with pedals, and they never learn to use training wheels as a "crutch." We ordered one for him, and the day before it came he said "Blue bicycle." I told him I knew he wanted a blue bicycle, and he said "Too small! Won't fit" and asked for a hug. He was pretty surprised to find one in our driveway the next day.

Even funnier is the fact that he's absolutely convinced he has a motorcycle. He always gets bicycles and motorcycles confused, and he heard a truck go by when he first got on his bicycle. Now he's convinced that it is "Sammy's noisy motorcycle."

The first time he fell he asked for a green bicycle instead. I guess he thinks you don't fall off green bicycles.

First Carousel Ride

We went to Earth Day at the museum and Sammy's favorite part was, of course, the carousel.

Dressed Up And Meeting The Easter Bunny

He loved the Easter Bunny. When he was terrified of his family members (he's going through a shy phase...) the Easter Bunny actually calmed him down.

Ready To Go Outside and Plant Peas!

Sammy has been having fun planting so far this spring. He's planted flowers and beans with Grandma, peas and potatoes with Grandpa, and peas with Mommy. He's already asked to eat the beans, and was quite disappointed to learn they're not quite ready.
