Today Sam went on his first apple picking trip. Though he slept through the entire thing, we think he managed to have a lot of fun.

One Month Old

Today is Sammy's One Month Birthday!

How does Sammy feel about that?

So, we've been trying to get a good picture of Sam's smile from the time he was born. The first time we saw him smile was at a sharps box in the hospital, and he smiled and giggled in his sleep frequently. Last Thursday, he was awake between 3:00 and 4:00 am, smiling and cooing. He did the same thing Monday night, only he was smiling and cooing at toys in his bed instead of his parents.

We know that those first smiles probably weren't real (although sharps boxes sure are entertaining), but starting yesterday, we've been able to get him to smile pretty consistently. Unfortunately, taking pictures of it haven't been so easy. So, I have to apologize for the poor quality of the pictures/video, but you get the general idea.

Doctor's Update

Sammy went to the doctor yesterday. He is up to 9lbs 11oz., and is 22 inches long.

Well, after sleeping so well last night, Sam is up tonight with his first cold. Since the pictures of him and the nasal aspirator aren't so flattering, I'll leave you with pictures of his first bath instead.

Due to Sammy's wiggliness and hatred of swaddling, his pediatrician suggested that we listen to him and stop trying to do it. So this is the fun outfit he gets to wear at night so that he stays warm without pulling blankets over his head.
